Green Sapote, also known as Pouteria viridis, is a tropical fruit native to Guatemala.  It has a round or oval shape and a bright green, glossy skin when ripe. The flesh of the fruit is soft and has a texture similar to a ripe avocado. It is also pale green in color and has a sweet, slightly spicy flavor. Green Sapote is often eaten fresh or used to make desserts, such as ice cream and smoothies. It is also a good source of vitamins and minerals, including vitamin C, potassium, and iron. When ripe, the fruit will be soft to the touch and have a slightly sweet aroma. It can be stored at room temperature until it is ripe, and then refrigerated until it is ready to be eaten.
